Box Score Patchogue, NY---St. Joseph's College (L.I.) won their second straight game as they defeated Brooklyn College 2-0 in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night at Danzi Stadium. The Golden Eagles improve to 3-3-1 on the year and Brooklyn slides to 0-3.The Golden Eagles controlled possession for the majority of the first half. St. Joseph's continue to create shots throughout the first half. They had the opportunity to score first in the 13th minute when a corner was awarded to sophomore Kristin Carroll who sent the ball into the box, senior Jaclyn Hughes took a shot but it was blocked by the Bulldog defense. The two teams battled to net the first goal, but the half conclude with the two teams at a 0-0 stalemate.
At the end of the first half St. Joseph's had the advantage in shots with eight and the Bulldogs were held to one shot.
St. Joseph's College continued to dominate possession across the field as they controlled the tempo of the game. The Golden Eagles started to create more opportunities to score in the 66th minute as a corner was a taken by Jessica Cordano, Hughes jumped for the header and there was a scramble in the box that led to handball in the box. SJC was awarded the penalty that senior Joann Murino successfully converted to net the first goal of the contest. St. Joseph's College doubled their led in the 81st minute when senior Chelsea Bellini went one on one with the keeper, after two shots by Bellini, she came out with the rebounded ball and shot it into the empty net to take the 2-0 led.

Brooklyn will resume action on Thursday as they return hom to host the Purchase College Panthers in a 4:30 pm start. The Golden Eagles will resume conference play as they travel to take on Mt. Saint Mary on Saturday September 19.
