Women's Volleyball Needs Fifth Set to Down York, Move to 3-0 in League Play

Box Score Jamaica, NY – The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball Team went the distance with York on Tuesday, as the Bulldogs defeated the Cardinals 3-2, in five sets (21-25, 25-12, 25-22, 21-25, 15-2). This win advances Brooklyn to 4-3, 3-0 CUNYAC, dropping York to 1-5, 1-2 CUNYAC.

Things did not start smoothly for BC, as the Bulldogs struggled in the first set, falling to the Cardinals 25-21. 

Strong performances were turned in by Brooklyn College's returning upperclassmen, as the Bulldogs were paced by junior Christolia Butler, who had nine kills and eleven digs. Senior Sasha Roopchand tallied 12 digs, while junior Crystal Wu had 17 assists. 

Junior Brianna Montanna also added four kills, while classmate Francesca LoCascio totaled 5 aces.
 
The Bulldogs return to play Thursday, when they travel to Hunter College, for a match at 6:00 p.m.
