Box Score New York, NY – On Thursday evening the Hunter College Women's Volleyball Team defeated Brooklyn College in three sets, 25-15, 25-17, and 25-19. The Bulldogs are now 4-4 overall, and 3-1 in CUNYAC play, while Hunter improves to 4-2, 4-0.
Things were looking promising for the Bulldogs as they jumped to a quick start, with a 2-0 lead, but the Hawks quickly responded, scoring three quick points, taking the lead. Hunter soon opened the gap to a score of 17-10 before pulling away with the first set.
The second set consisted of back-and-forth battling between the Hawks and the Bulldogs. Thanks to Hunter College's Taylor Haiduk-Kertook, who recorded three straight kills, the Hawks were able to pull away.
The Bulldogs came out fired up in the third set of the match, but although they played the Hawks to a closer score, they couldn't force a fourth set.
Brianna Montana led the Bulldogs with 5 kills and Sasha Roopchand recorded 4 aces during the match.
The Bulldogs are set to compete again on Wednesday, September 23, in Bronx, N.Y., against Lehman College, at 7:30 p.m.
