Box Score 2 Birmingham, AL---The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer squad got a taste of southern hospitality as they made a four-day, three night trip to Alabama to play in the Birmingham Southern College Soccer Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs couldn't salvage a win in two contests, falling to the hosts BSC, 2-1 on Saturday night after falling on Friday, 4-1 to Oglethorpe.
The Bulldogs played valiantly on Saturday against the home team BSC, who is now 7-0-1 on the year, as BC was able to get a first half goal from
Jordy Ortiz and manage a 1-1 tie going into the locker room.
It wasn't until the contest's 88th minute that BSC's Dallas Coyne was able to convert on the Panthers' second goal to clinch the 2-1 victory.
In Friday's contest, Oglethorpe was to much for BC, taking the 4-1 decision, however junior
Kenny Benitez, while playing goalkeeper, had Brooklyn's lone goal on a penalty kick.
The Bulldogs will be back to NYC this week and will face their first conference test of the season, traveling to face CCNY on Wednesday.
