Box Score Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer team squeaked out their first conference win on Wednesday over CCNY, and new they would need to bring their best to get the same result against Staten Island, who came into the game with a 2-0 conference mark. It turned out the Bulldogs would give a great effort, however it would only be good enough for a 2-2 tie as the teams played an even 110 minutes on Saturday at BC Field. BC is now 3-3-1, 1-0-1 CUNYAC, while the Dolphins are now 3-6-1 and 2-0-1 in league play.
After an early Staten Island goal by Ruben Diaz gave the visitors the first half advantage, it was Brooklyn's
Jordy Ortiz who would score the equalizer and tally his second score on the week to tie things at one a piece.
Valentyn Kharko gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the contest, breaking the 1-1 tie early in the second half and putting a jolt into the BC crowd, however CSI would get a goal within minutes from Brayan Evo to tie the game once again at two.
While both teams had some chances, neither would score over the final 26 minutes of regulation or in the two overtime periods and the teams would have to settle for the hard fought tie.
Brooklyn will be on the road Monday at Montclair State, before returning back home on Wednesday as they host Hunter in a big conference game. The contest will be whiteout day as the first 150 BC Bulldog fans will receive free BC Athletics T-Shirts.
