Brooklyn, NY---The women's volleyball team earned a hard fought win on Monday night as they defeated non-conference foe, Centenary (NJ), by the scores of 20-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-11, 15-2. 
 
Junior middle hitter Christolia Butler once again paced the Bulldogs with career-highs of 19 kills and 13 digs, for her 1st double-double of the season.

"Lia has been one of our more consistent players this season" says first-year head coach Andy Mueller. "Her ability to dominate the net as well as play stellar defense makes our whole team better and her teammates see her work ethic day in and day out."
 
The Cyclones did not go down without a fight in this match.  After losing set two, they came back strong to win a pivotal 3rd set, with senior Vanessa McKellar leading them with 14 kills for the match. 
 
It was all Bulldogs after that though with Brooklyn out scoring Centenary 40-13 over the last two sets of the match. The 5th set was highlighted by 1st year player Marie Pruitt's 6-0 service run to put the set and the match out of reach. 
 
Senior captain Sasha Roopchand added a match high 19 digs while hitting an efficient .147. Junior captain Francesca LoCascio added 8 kills of her own to go with a career high 16 digs.
 
"This was a fun match to be a part of" said head coach Andy Mueller. "Hats off to Centenary as they fought hard, but I cannot say enough about how much our depth really showed here. We took over at the service line and stayed aggressive set after set."

Brooklyn will be back in action on Friday / Saturday at the Ramapo Tournament in Mahwah, New Jersey.
