Box Score 2 Kings Point, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball Team split a pair of matches at the USMMA Trimatch on Saturday, falling to the hosts, before they took three straight from Pratt, earning their first win of the season, and the first career victory for first-year head coach
Andy Mueller.Â
"This was a great team effort," said Mueller of his team's victory. Â "This is a special group of athletes. We've put in a lot of hours in the gym and to be able to share with them my first win as a college head coach will be a memory I cherish for a long time."
The Bulldogs defeated the Cannoneers, 25-16, 25-15, 25-14, to improve to 1-3 on the season, while Pratt falls to 0-3.Christolia Butler continued her strong play to begin the season, as she knocked home a team-high nine kills.
Crystal Wu handed out a match-high 23 assists in a strong all-around effort for the Bulldogs.
In the day's first match for BC, they fell for the second time in five days to the host Mariners of the US Merchant Marine Academy, 25-17, 25-16, 25-21.
Brooklyn will be back in action on Saturday the 12th at the CUNYAC Multi-match, hosted by CCNY, where they will face Medgar Evers College and the College of Staten Island.
