Box Score Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's soccer team earned themselves a regular season CUNYAC title going undefeated in conference play defeating Lehman this afternoon, 1-0. The Bulldogs improve to 7-6-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the CUNYAC. Brooklyn will be the #1 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships and will host their semifinal match on Wednesday, November 2nd. First, the Bulldogs will play their final home game of the regular season on Monday against Stockton. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
With the soggy conditions affecting the pace of most of the match, nothing came easy for either team in the air or the ground. Going back and forth through the first half and fifteen minutes into the second, the Bulldogs had a few chances they weren't able to capitalize on but it would only be a matter of time until BC found the back of the net. That time would come in the 61st minute as freshman forward
Victoria Ramirez received a ball from the backfield just inside Lightning territory. While fending off a Lehman defender she would strike a rocket from the left hash twenty yards out for the game winner and her team leading sixth goal of the season.
The Brooklyn defenders made enough plays in the backfield and goal keeper
Samantha Rodriguez made a few key plays away from the goal to eliminate any Lehman threat in the final minutes of the match.
Brooklyn outshot Lehman 13-6 including ten shots on goal to one for the match.
Rodriguez finished with a save on the day.
Today marked the first year the Bulldogs grabbed the regular season CUNYAC crown with an unblemished 6-0 record.
