Men's Basketball Falls at William Paterson in Season Opener

Box Score Wayne, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their home opener this evening, outlasted by William Paterson University, 82-67, on  the road.  Brooklyn returns to action on Tuesday, November 22nd, as they play host to non-conference local, St. Joseph's College Brooklyn.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.  

How it Happened
  • Despite finding themselves in a 6-0 hole to start the game, the Bulldogs battled their way back into the game early using a 16-2 run to take a 16-8 lead with with 12:17 left in the first half.
  • Brooklyn kept a lead in the first half until the 5:02 mark.  
  • The Pioneers took the first half lead for good at the 3:32 mark to head into intermission with a three-point edge. 
  • With the Bulldogs leading 46-45, WPU would go on a 10-3 run to keep the lead for good starting at the 13:27 mark in the second half.
  • WPU shot 45% from the floor to the Bulldogs' 39.9%
  • The Pioneers connected on 81% of their free throws to BC's 50%. 
  • WPU out-rebounded the Bulldogs by 11 for the game. 
  • The Pioneers had two starters lead the game with 19 points a piece.

  • Brooklyn shot 42.3% (11-26) from beyond the arc as a team. 
  • Three of BC's five starters scored in double-figures with the two other starters contributing nine points.
