Montclair, NJ---After a double overtime thrilling win against Ollie Gelston Classic host, Montclair State, last night, the Brooklyn College men's basketball battled for the second day in a row unfortunately with a different result, falling to Moravian College, 74-72. Brooklyn moves to 1-2 with the defeat. Next Up: The Bulldogs open at home on Tuesday, November 22nd, to host St. Joseph's Brooklyn at 6:00 pm at the West Quad Center.
How It Happened
- Trailing 74-69 with :39 left in the game, Brooklyn junior guard Maynard Grant knocked down a three-pointer with :19 left to cut it to a one-possession contest. Immediately fouling on the ensuing possession ,Moravian would miss on the front-end of a one-and-one. However, the Bulldogs' game-tying jumper didn't go with :06 left.
- Never able to grab a lead in the second half, the Bulldogs trailed by as many as nine early in the period.
- A tight game through most of the first half, Moravian jumped out to an eight point lead heading into halftime.
- Moravian knocked down 12 three-point field goals to the Bulldogs' five for the game.
- Brooklyn had a tough day at the charity stripe shooting 9-19 on the afternoon.
Leading the Bulldogs
- Senior center Enees Nikovic scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed a game-high 20 rebounds. He also had four blocks on the day. He has a double-double in all three games played thus far.
- Senior guard Austin Wood added 13 points.
- Senior guard Chris McIllhatton was 3-6 from behind the arc finishing with nine points.
