Brooklyn, NY---Following a tough 14-2 defeat in the first game of a CUNYAC doubleheader this afternoon, the Bulldogs bounced back to defeat the Bearcats 6-3 in the second game. Brooklyn moves to 5-20 overall and 2-10 in the CUNYAC with the split, which earned them a spot in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships. Baruch is now 8-22 overall with the win and loss, and 7-4 in conference play. BC will take to the road for their final doubleheader of the regular season at New England College on Friday.

Breanna Maresca who singled earlier in the inning to cut the Bearcat lead to 2-1 heading into the fifth.
The Bulldogs rallied for the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs. Freshman second baseman
Kyla Gardner started the rally with a single advancing to second on a past ball. Senior
Michelle Cranston would drive her home as the next with an RBI single, tying the game 2-2. Maresca then stepped up and hit a triple that scored Cranston, giving the Bulldogs their first lead of the afternoon. Following an intentional walk to senior shortstop

Shakira Feliciano hit the game-winning RBI single that drove home Maresca. With the bases loaded, senior outfielder
Alexis Greco crushed an two-RBI double that sent Feliciano and Rodriguez home, giving Brooklyn the 6-2 advantage heading into the sixth inning. Baruch managed a run in the top of the seventh but couldn't erase the damage that had been done in the fifth by the Bulldogs.

Uena Xharo pitched seven innings of solid softball for her fourth win of the season, charged with only two of the Bearcats' runs on seven hits while facing 30 batters.
Errors killed the Bulldogs in the first game, committing six in five innings played. Baruch capitalized on the Bulldogs fielding blunders especially in the fourth inning scoring nine runs to go on to win 14-2.
