Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to New York University, 3-0, this evening in their home opener.  Brooklyn falls to 0-6 to start the season.  NYU improves to 6-3 with their sixth victory in the last seven games.  The Bulldogs will take to the road for the St. Mary's College (MD) Tournament.  BC will open with Methodist University on Friday. 

The Bulldogs kept it close to start the match, however two late NYU flurries helped the Violets to a 25-13 first set victory.  NYU ended the first set with two staright kills. 

NYU used the momentum they created in the end of the first set to jump out to a 7-1 lead to start the second set.  Following a Brianna Montana kill, the Violets then went on an 8-0 run.  Trailing 23-10, the Bulldogs didn't give up, scoring four straight of their own to cut the NYU lead to 23-14.  However, the ended the set with two straight.

The Violets rolled in the third set grabbing a 25-2 win in the final set of the match. 

Four Bulldogs finished with two kills on the evening.  Junior defensive specialist Sarina Rozek finished the match with six digs.
