Box Score Brooklyn, NY---Winners of their last two conference matches by way of shutout, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team had their conference win-streak snapped this evening, falling to Baruch, 0-3. Brooklyn drops to 2-3 in the CUNYAC and 3-13 overall on the season. Baruch improves to 3-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs will have a couple of days to regroup before participating in the Ramapo Invitational on Friday. BC will open with the host followed by another match with St. Joseph's Long Island.
Baruch came out on fire, outscoring the Bulldogs 16-1 in the opening set to cruise to a 25-7 victory. Brooklyn took advantage of a few Baruch mistakes in the beginning of the second set, jumping out to 4-1 lead. However, the Bearcats responded with three straight of their own to even the score. Baruch would then score five straight to take a 9-5 lead. The Bulldogs kept the set in striking distance until Baruch went on a back-breaking 5-0 run already leading by five points for the 19-10 advantage. Baruch would finish the set 25-15.
Brooklyn showed some poise in the third set, matching the Bearcats point for point and run for run halfway through the final set. With the Bulldogs leading 13-12, Baruch would go on a 4-0 run that Brooklyn would never fully recover from. Baruch would take the final set, 25-22.
