Brooklyn, NY---For the first time in three years, the Brooklyn College women's tennis team defeated Hunter, 6-3, this afternoon for their first CUNYAC victory of the season. Brooklyn moves to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the CUNYAC with the win. Hunter drops to 1-4 and 0-2. The Bulldogs will be back on the Roosevelt Courts at home tomorrow in non-conference action to Purchase. Doubles play is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
"We showed good improvement today," explained first-year BC head coach,
David Wallis. "That win at No. 3 doubles was pivotal for the team victory."
Senior
Rebecca Solano ended the match with a tie-breaker win at No. 4 singles. After being edged 5-7 in the first set, she would respond with a 6-2 win in the second and 10-8 advantage in the tie-breaker.
Juniors
Fatma Serageldin and
Natalie Abramov formed the No. 3 doubles team today that defeated Hunter 8-6 that helped carry the momentum into singles play for the Bulldogs.
