Women's Volleyball Falls to John Jay in Non-Conference Match

New York, NY---Despite making vast improvements from the first to the third set this evening, the BC women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match at John Jay, 3-0 (9-25, 20-25, 22-25).  Brooklyn falls to 0-3 to start the 2016 season.  John Jay picked up their first win of the season to improve to 1-2.  The two teams will meet again this weekend at John Jay in a CUNYAC tri-match including Hunter.  The Bulldogs will take on Hunter at 10:00 am and John Jay at noon.

After losing the first set 25-9, the Bulldogs put up much more of a fight in the second set, taking a 10-7 lead to start the match.  However, the home team regrouped and ralled for four straight points to take the lead for good.  BC found themselves in a hole to start the third set, trailing 7-0.  The Bulldogs clawed their way back into the set, only trailing 22-23 in the later points of the set.  However, the Bloodhounds scored the final to points in a row to sweep the match.

The Bulldogs were led by senior middle hitter Francesca LoCascio's seven kills and two assisted blocks on the evening.  Senior outside hitter Christolia Butler and junior defensive specialist Sarina Rozek added six kills each.
