Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's and men's swimming and diving teams came out with a split in their final home regular season meet of the season tonight against Purchase on Senior Night. Â BC's men would go on to defeat the Panthers 102-34 to improve to 3-4 overall with the non-conference victory. Â The BC women were edged by Purchase, 109-94, dropping to 2-7 overall. Â Both teams will close out the regular season at Lehman in CUNYAC action on January 25. Â
The Brooklyn men dominated the evening, finishing in first place in every event. Â BC took the top three places in the 200 yard freestyle final led by sophomore
Hugo Meza's time of 2:08.50.  Brooklyn would also take the top three places in the 50 yard freestyle final led by
Kevin Leung's time of 23.91 and the 100 yard freestyle final led by
Umut Tanritanir's time of 53.84. Â
The Brooklyn women came close once again to defeating Purchase. Â Sophomore
Valerie Vassilieva gave the Bulldogs first place finishes in the 200 yard IM, the 100 yard freestyle, and the 500 yard freestyle finals. Â Freshman
Angella Christopher cruised to a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle final with a time of 28.77. Â Senior
Eva Chan finished first for the Bulldogs and second overall in the 100 yard breaststroke final. Â
