Women's Swimming Drops Conference Meet at Hunter

New York, NY---Despite winning a couple of events on the evening, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team fell at Hunter tonight, 60-34, in CUNYAC action.  Brooklyn drops to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC with the defeat.  Hunter improved to 6-1 and 4-0 with the victory.  Brooklyn will have a couple of days before leaving for Stuart, Florida where they will compete in the CSCAA Sprint Meet.  The team returns to conference action on January 10 as they host Baruch at the West Quad Center at 6:00 pm.  

Meet Results

Freshman Angella Christopher picked up the first win for the Bulldogs of the evening in the 200 yard freestyle final with a time of 2:22.83.  In the very next race, sophomore Valerie Vassilieva won the 50 yard freestyle final with a time of 27.15.  The first-place finishes helped the Bulldogs to ten points on the evening.  

Vassilieva earned three more points for the Bulldogs with a second-place finish in the 100 yard freestyle final.
