Women's Basketball Rolls to 76-56 Conference Win Over CCNY

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's basketball rolled to their third win in four games, cruising to a 76-56 conference victory against CCNY.  Brooklyn improves to 15-5 overall and 10-2 in CUNYAC with the victory.  CCNY drops to 8-13 and 4-9.  The Bulldogs continue CUNYAC play on Thursday as they travel to Baruch.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.  

Leading by 11 early in the fourth period, the Bulldogs extended their advantage to as many as 22 points in the final ten minutes of the game.  

Following a CCNY three-point make that extended the Beaver lead to five in the opening seconds of the second period, the Bulldogs rattled off seven unanswered points to take a two-point advantage with 8:28 remaining in the first half.  The Beavers would go up by four in the next two minutes, but the lead wouldn't last long as Alexandra Moogan knocked down two consecutive three-pointers to give the lead back to BC.  Brooklyn would go on a 12-4 in the final 4:19 of the first half to take a 41-33 halftime lead. 

Brooklyn buried 10 of 28 three-point attempts on the evening.  Sophomore wing Alexandra Moogan knocked down all three of her six attempts from beyond the arc in the first half.  

Trailing 18-16 after the first period, the Bulldogs took control of the game with the 'three-ball' and full-court defensive pressure that led to 26 points off of CCNY's turnovers.  

Senior forward Olivia Colbert led all scorers with 17 points while flirting with a double-double with nine rebounds.  Moogan added 11 points also flirting with a double-double with nine boards.  Junior guard rounded up double-digit scoring for the Bulldogs with 10 points.  She also found teammates for four assists.  

CCNY guard Alexis Akridge led the Beavers with 14 points.
