Wayne, NJ---Earning their second ECAC Championships bid in the last three seasons, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team ended their season this afternoon, falling to host and No. 1 seed William Paterson University. The No. 4 seeded Bulldogs close the season with a 9-9-2 overall record. WPU improved to 11-6-3 and advanced to the tournament's semifinals with the victory.
Leading up to the Match
-Brooklyn finished the regular season with an 8-7-2 including a 6-2 mark in conference play earning them a No. 3 seed in the CUNYAC Championships. BC defeated Hunter, 4-2, in the conference tournament quarterfinal, but would fall at No. 2 seed and eventual CUNYAC runner-up, John Jay, 2-1.
-WPU defeated Brooklyn during the regular season at home, 4-0. The Pioneers fell in overtime to Montclair State in the quarterfinal of the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
How It Happened
-The Pioneers scored all four of the match's goals in the first period including the game-winner in the second minute of the match.
-Brooklyn would keep the home team at bay for the next twenty minutes before a successful penalty kick in the 23rd minute. Twenty-six seconds after their second goal, WPU took a 3-0 lead on an own goal off of a cross.
-Despite the Pioneers outshooting the Bulldogs 15-6 for the match, both teams managed five shots-on-goal.

-CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, freshman midfielder Azizjon Ziyaev, finished with two shots, both on-goal.
