Staten Island, NY---The new-look Brooklyn College men's swimming and diving team took preseason favorite and perennial power, College of Staten Island, down to the wire this evening, falling 116-112 to the Dolphins. Brooklyn falls to 0-1 to start the season, while CSI improves to 1-1 and 1-0 in CUNYAC. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back in their Home Opener against York College at 6:00 pm at the West Quad Pool.
Meet Notes
-The Bulldogs began the meet with a First Place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a squad consisting of Joe Lee, Thomas Wong, Omar Hasan-Hafez, and Brian Jensen. BC finished the race with a time of 1:44.76.
-Freshman Joe Lee and senior
Kevin Leung would finish first and second in the 50 yard yard freestyle with times of 22.58 and 24.08 respectively.
-Senior Brian Jensen finished first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.37; teammate,
Kevin Leung, finished a hair behind with a time of 54.96.
-Freshman Thomas Wong blew away the competition in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.31.
-Brooklyn closed out the meet with a First Place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.76.
