Women's Swimming and Diving Falls at Staten Island in CUNYAC Opener

Staten Island, NY---The Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving fell to the College of Staten Island this evening, 117-81, in their conference opener on the road.  Brooklyn drops to 0-1 in dual meet action to start the season.  CSI improved to 1-1 over and 1-0 in CUNYAC with the victory.  The Bulldogs will look to bounce back in their Home Opener in conference action against York College 6:00 pm at the West Quad Pool.  

Meet Notes

-Freshman Melanie Deringer gave the Bulldogs a First Place finish in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:58.32, which earned BC nine points.  Staten Island would have a First Place finisher in every other event swam this evening.  
-Sophomore Mariya Shaban finished second in the one meter dive with a score of 103.5.  
-Shaban and junior Crystal Mieux picked up 13 more points for the Bulldogs for their efforts in the 3-meter dive.
