Brooklyn Sweeps Bard in the Pool for Non-Conference Wins

Brooklyn, NY---Both the women's and men's swimming and diving teams prevailed to victories this afternoon against Bard College in non-conference action at the West Quad Pool.  Brooklyn's women outscored the Raptors, 87-70, while the men pulling out a 104-99 victory thanks to a First Place finish in the final event of the day.  The women improve to 3-2 with their second win in a row while the men move to 2-2 on the season.  Both teams continue non-conference competition on the road at Purchase College on Tuesday.  

"We had a strong meet today and we cut times across the board," Head Caoch, Antonio Gaspar commented following the meet. "Definitely happy with today's progress."

Women's Highlights

-Leah Henry won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:10.54. 
-1 meter divers, Maryia Shaban and Crystal Mieux, helped the Bulldogs to 11 points.  Shaban was the board's leader with a score of 180.90. 

Men's Highlights

-The 200 medley relay squad of Joe Lee, Thomas Wong, Omar Hasan-Hafez, and Peter Khimitch started the meet by setting a new school record with a time of 143.51.  
-Junior Joe Lee set the school record in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 49.17.
