Sherman, TX---The Brooklyn College softball team fell in both games of a doubleheader at Austin College this evening. BC dropped Game 1, 9-1 (5 innings), before falling to the Roos, 13-0 (5 innings) in Game 2. Brooklyn moves to 2-16 with the non-conference losses. Austin improved to 7-29 on their Senior Night. The Bulldogs return to New York to take on York in a conference doubleheader on Saturday. Opening pitch is slated for 12:00 pm at Padavan-Preller Complex in Jamaica, NY.
Trailing 3-0 entering the second inning in Game 1, the Bulldogs found some life starting with a
Breanna Maresca lead-off walk. With two outs, freshman infielder
Anna Curran moved Maresca to second with a bloop single to left field. The next batter, sophomore infielder
Brianna Preston, drove Maresca home with a single. Sophomore starting pitcher
Uena Xharo retired the Roos in order in the bottom of the inning.
Austin eventually responded in the bottom of the third inning with four runs on five hits. The Roos tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth before retiring the Bulldogs in the top of the fifth for the win.

In Game 2, Roo starter, Tori Herrera, picked up her third win of the season with a no-hitter in all five innings of work. She finished with 13 strikeouts on the evening.
Leading 7-0 through the first two innings, Austin scored six runs in the bottom of the third for the final score.
