Women's Tennis Pulls Out 5-4 Win Over Farmingdale State to Start Season

Brooklyn, NY---Freshman Rosa Aksanov pulled out a huge win in a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles to clinch a 5-4 win for the Brooklyn College women's tennis team over Farmingdale State this evening in their first match of the season.  The Bulldogs open CUNYAC play at John Jay on Thursday.

-Junior No.1 Ievgeniia Kostenko returned to the court after a season off in a big way with a 6-0, 6-1 win in singles and helped her No. 1 doubles pair to an 8-6 victory. 
-Brooklyn trailed the Rams 2-1 following doubles play. 
-Aksanov lost the first set at No. 2 singles before cruising in the second, 6-0, and grinding out an 11-9 win in the tiebreaker. 
-The BC victory avenges last season's 9-0 loss on the Rams' home court.
