Brooklyn, NY---In a crucial conference match-up, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team won their ninth straight game, defeating Hunter College, 69-55, this evening at the West Quad Center. The victory avenged BC's only conference loss so far this season at Hunter in the first semester. Brooklyn improves to 16-2 overall and 8-1 in CUNYAC. Hunter moves to 13-5 and 6-3. The Bulldogs have the weekend off before hosting Lehman on Monday in another conference showdown. Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.
How It Happened
-Leading by four points to end the first quarter, the Bulldogs opened the second with a 9-2 run. They would go on to lead by as many as 14 points in the second quarter before heading into halftime with 37-25 advantage.
-Hunter would come all the way back and take a two-point lead, 48-46, following a Maya Thompson three-point make. The Bulldogs would re-take the lead for good on a three buried by senior guard,
Karen Mak, with 7:32 left in regulation.
-Brooklyn closed out the game with a 17-5 run.
