Patchogue, NY---After the beginning the 2018 season with a 3-0 sweep at Purchase on Tuesday, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team found themselves on the other end of a sweep at St. Joseph's Long Island, falling to the Golden Eagles (14-25, 16-25, 10-25). BC moves to 1-1 with the non-conference loss. St. Joe's improved to 3-1 with the victory. The Bulldogs travel California beginning February 1 as they take part in the Cal Lutheran Invitational.
By the Set
-After Brooklyn scored the first point of the match, the home team rallied for five straight to take the lead for good in the first set.
-Played closely through the first 11 scores of the second set, the Golden Eagles used a 5-0 run to pull away from the Bulldogs.
-Brooklyn took a 3-0 lead to start the third set, but St. Joe's rallied for four straight to take an early lead. The Golden Eagles then used a 6-0 rally to put the set and match away.
Leading BC
-Junior Vaughn Titus and sophomore Ahmed Moawad put five kills away a piece.
-In his first match of the season, junior setter, Sayuj Zachariah, set for a team-high nine assists.
Leading St. Joe's
-Will Flohr finished with a match-high 11 kills.
