Women's and Men's Swimming and Diving Falls at William Paterson

Wayne, NJ---After winning their first dual meet of the season together over Purchase College on Wednesday, the BC women's and men's swimming and diving teams weren't able to keep the momentum going this afternoon at William Paterson University.  Brooklyn's women fell to WPU, 97-69, while the men dropped their first dual meet of the season, 92-77.  The women's squad moves to 1-4 with the non-conference loss and men drop to 2-1 on the season.  Both teams travel to Lehman College on Tuesday, December 11, for a CUNYAC dual meet at 6:00 pm.

The Pioneers had a first-place finish in every event but one on the afternoon. However, BC underclassmen on both sides showed promise with a number of top-three finishes.

On the women's side, freshman, Emily Yang, was edged by .3 of a second finishing second in the 100 yard breaststroke final with a time of 1:20.48. Prior to that performance, she finished second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:35.31.

For the men, fellow freshman, Dorian Zaremba, also had a standout afternoon. He began his meet with a Third Place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle final with a time of 11:25.74.  Later on in the meet he finished second in the 200 yard IM with a time 2:18.10.  Zaremba then gave Brooklyn its lone win for the meet in the 100 yard backstroke with a finals time of 59.98.
