Myrtle Beach, SC---In its final doubleheader at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, the Brooklyn College softball team dropped both games of the two-game bill to Frostburg State. Brooklyn drops to 0-6 on the season while Frostburg State moves to 10-4 with the non-conference victories. The Bulldogs return home to host St. Joseph's College Brooklyn at BC Field on Wednesday, March 21st. The non-conference doubleheader is slated to start at 5:00 pm.
In Game 1, FSU opened up the game in the top of the third inning, scoring eight runs to take an 11-0 lead en route to a 16-0 victory in five innings. BC freshman outfielder Chanel Jemmott picked up the first hit of her collegiate softball career on a leadoff single to start the bottom of the second inning for the Bulldogs. Freshman infielder, Brittany Lay, had Brooklyn's other hit of the game to start off the bottom of the third.
In Game 2, the Bobcats jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Xharo would see extended action on the day, coming in for relief for the final three innings of play. allowing four runs (three earned). Jemmott would slap her second hit of the day in the top of the fourth inning for the Bulldogs lone hit of the game.
