Camden, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's tennis team improved to 2-0 to start the 2018 season this afternoon defeating Rutgers-Camden, 7-2, on the road. RUC dropped to 0-3 with the non-conference loss. Brooklyn returns to its home courts on Tuesday, March 19th, for a non-conference match against St. Joseph's College Long Island at 4:00 pm.
The Bulldogs won two of the three doubles matches of the day before winning five of six singles matches. Freshman No. 1 Justin Vasquez won his first collegiate singles match of his career. Sophomore No. 3 Julian Calame-Mars rolled to a straight set shutout in singles. After falling 6-1 in the first set at No. 4 singles, sophomore Samuel Meyerovich pulled out a 7-5 victory in the second set before winning the match with a 10-6 advantage in the super-set tiebreaker.
