Farmingdale, NY---The Brooklyn College men's soccer team dropped its third match in a row on the road to start the 2018 Season this afternoon, falling to Farmingdale State College, 3-0. Farmingdale picked up its first victory to improve to 1-1. The Bulldogs will make a trip out West where they will take on Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Puget Sound in Washington this weekend.
Brooklyn had its opportunities with seven of its eight shots for the match on-goal, but weren't able to capitalize. The Rams were the busier team offensively, firing off 17 shots for the match including eight on-goal.
The Rams put the game-winner away in the 30th minute of the match to take a 1-0 halftime lead. They score their second goal off of a rebound early on in the second half in the 47th minute. Farmingdale padded its lead less than twenty minutes later on a long pass leading to a breakaway goal.
Sophomore back, Daniel Gurov, and sophomore midfielder, Brian Navarrete, finished the match with two shots-on-goal apiece.
In goal, sophomore keeper, Balint Barabas, played all ninety minutes of the match finishing with four saves. FSC's Scott Flores recorded the shutout with seven saves.
