Brooklyn, NY---The Lehman Lightning came into West Quad Center and defeated Brooklyn in overtime on a miraculous three-quarter court buzzer beater from reserve guard Miguel Haboosh, breaking a 58-58 tie for the three point, 61-58 win. Bulldog forward
Jade Spencer seemingly sent the game into double overtime with a 3-point shot to tie the game with just under three seconds remaining in overtime, however Haboosh was able to get off one last heave, and amazingly found the bottom of the net.
How it Happened
-Brooklyn struggled shooting the ball all night, converting on only 29% from the field and 50% from the free throw line.
-Lehman jumped out to a 22-19 halftime lead led Tommy Batista's 8 points. Brooklyn could only make 1-5 from the foul line.
-After Brooklyn's two points lead vanished on a floater from Haboosh with 41 seconds remaining in regulation, Brooklyn was able to get two clean looks to retake the lead, but couldn't convert.
-After a bucket by Spencer gave Brooklyn a 55-51 lead in overtime, Lehman scored the next five points to take a 56-55 lead. Brooklyn could not score on their next possession and was forced to foul. Lehman made both free throws, to take the three-point advantage, after which Spencer hit the clutch tying three and Haboosh ended the game in miraculous fashion.
