Jamaica, NY---The Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team scored a split last night at York College, defeating the host, 68-14, and falling to Hunter College, 75-18, in a CUNYAC tri-meet.  BC's men rolled to a 71-18 conference victory over York to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in CUNYAC.  The Brooklyn women move to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in conference with last night's results.  Both teams continue conference competition as they host Baruch College on Tuesday, January 8, in a dual meet at the West Quad Center at 6:00 pm.

On the women's side, freshman Emily Yang continued her stellar rookie campaign finishing second in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:33.53.  She also finished second in the 100 meter breaststroke final with a time of 1:30.36.  Sophomore, Semona Bardman, and junior, Stella Ryklis, picked up three points a piece for the Bulldogs with second-place finishes in the 100 meter butterfly and the 400 meter freestyle respectively.

BC's men had a first-place finish in every event against York this evening.  Sophomores Omar Hasan-Hafez and Thomas Wong dominated the competition in their respective events. Hasan-Hafez took both short distance freestyle events in convincing fashion while Wong did the same in the 200 meter individual medley and the 100 yard breaststroke.
