Swimming and Diving Drops Conference Meet to Baruch

Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's and men's swimming and diving teams both dropped conference meets to Baruch College this evening.  BC's women fell, 131-58, dropping to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in CUNYAC.  The Brooklyn men were outscored 130-63, moving to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.  Both teams close out their conference meet schedule at home on January 16 against the College of Staten Island at 6pm.

On the women's side, the Bearcats had a first and second place finisher in every individual event, but.  Brooklyn freshman, Emily, finished second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:34.83.  Baruch would also win both the 200 Medley Relay to start the meet and the 200 Freestyle relay to end the meet.

The Brooklyn men put up a fight against the undefeated Bearcat squad, but the Bearcats proved to be too strong overall.  Brooklyn sophomore, Omar Hasan-Hafez, gave BC its only win of the meet, finishing first in the 50 yard freestyle final with a time 23.56.  Fellow sophomore, Thomas Wong, finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke final with a time of 1:03.01.  Junior Gabriel Contreras finished second in the 200 yard freestyle final with a time of 2:06.80.
