Brooklyn, NY---Stung by three first half goals, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team fell to John Jay College, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championships this afternoon.  The No. 4 seeded Bulldogs end the season with an overall record of 4-12-1 while the No. 5 Bloodhounds improve to 6-10 with the win.  With the win, John Jay will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 2, to take on top-seeded Lehman College.  

Match Summary

-John Jay struck first an early, getting on the board in 9' on a set piece through off of a corner kick.  
-The Bloodhounds scored the game-winner only a couple of minutes later on an own goal.  
-John Jay took a 3-0 halftime lead with a recovery off of a bad clear and beating the goalie in a one on one situation in 17'.
-BC avoided the postseason shutout with junior midfielder Alex Sosa converting a penalty kick after the Bulldogs were fouled in the box in 81'.  
-The Bloodhounds tacked on the final goal of the match on a push up the left wing into a shot from top center of the box.  
-John Jay outshot Brooklyn 15-9 for the match including 9-4 in shots on-frame.
