Bulldogs Respond in Big Way, Defeat York, 3-1

Box Score Queens, NY---Trailing York College 1-0 early in the match, the Brooklyn College women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals for the 3-1 victory in conference play on the road this afternoon.  Brooklyn improves to 4-6-1 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC with the win while York drops to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in CUNYAC.  The Bulldogs look to stretch their win-streak to three as they host Rutgers-Newark on Monday, October 7, at 6pm.  

Match Summary

-The Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in 13' on a deep ball.  
-BC sophomore midfielder, Rachel Gomez, scored the equalizer in 27' with a deep shot of her own.
-Brooklyn took the lead for good in the first half on shot unloaded by junior forward, Anna Curran, for the game-winner in 36'.
-The Bulldogs added an insurance goal in 51' for Gomez's second of the match on through ball poked by sophomore midfielder, Andrea Cruz-Ibanez.  
-Brooklyn was the much busier team offensively on the day, outshooting the Cardinals 25-3.  
-BC senior goalie, Carmen Proffitt, had two saves in the win.
