Dallas, PA---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team closed out the 2019 Season this evening falling to Misercordia University, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-20), in the First Round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Volleyball Championships. BC ends the season with a 16-15 overall record. The Cougars improve to 21-17 with the win and advance to the quarterfinal round of the postseason tournament. Brooklyn qualified for the tournament after making their first appearance in the CUNYAC Championship match in almost three decades.
Match Summary
-BC got off to a slow start to start the match falling behind, 7-2, to the host. The Bulldogs did come back, cutting the MU lead to 17-15. However, the Cougars secured the game with a five-point rally for a 22-15 advantage.
-The Cougars jumped out to another sizable lead to start the second game. Brooklyn responded with a 6-0 run to tie the game, 10-10. Brooklyn took their first lead of the match, 20-19, before the Cougars, took a 2-0 lead with a six-score rally.
-A close game through most of the third, the host rallied for three straight scores for a 21-14 lead. The Cougars ended the Bulldogs' season with back-to-back kills.

Ashley Fung, put away a team-high 10 kills. Freshman outside hitter and Second Team CUNYAC All-Star,
Madison Cronk, added six kills.
-Sophomore setter and First Team CUNYAC All-Star,
Ezri Shor, finished with 19 assists.
-Junior libero and Second Team CUNYAC All-Star,
Yana Shaposhnikova, came up with a team-high 14 digs.

-Amanda Curcio finished with a team-high 12 kills and had three blocks.
