Purchase, NY----The Brooklyn College softball team dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader this afternoon at Purchase College. In Game 1, the Bulldogs fell 15-3 (5 Innings) and closed out the afternoon with a 10-0 (5 Innings) loss to the Panthers. Brooklyn moves to 1-5 with the losses while Purchase improved to 3-3 with the non-conference wins. The Bulldogs continue their non-conference schedule at Rosemont College on Wednesday.
How It Happened - Game 1
-The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on one hit. Brooklyn scored its first run of the game in the top of third inning, cutting the PC lead to 4-1. Freshman
Kayla Trembone scored the run on an RBI ground-out slapped by freshman
Sienna Bacchio-Wilson. However, the Panthers rsponded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the third.
-Purchase unloaded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Junior
Leslie Lima knocked a two-RBI single in the top of the fifth inning, driving home Trembone and fellow freshman
Megan Ortiz-Mengedoht, for BC's final runs of the afternoon.
-Lima was 1-2 with two RBI. Trembone scored two of Brooklyn's three runs.
-PC's Mae Testa Feliciano was 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Purchase starting pitcher, Kelly Agostini, earned her first win of the season.
How It Happened - Game 2
-Leading 4-0, the home team scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning for the final score.
-Purchase starting pitcher, Cassidy Montes, allowed only two Brooklyn hits in the shutout, improving to 2-1 in the circle for the season.
-Bacchio-Wilson and Lima each had a single for BC.
-Three Panthers went 2-3 for the game including the Feliciano who doubled and drove in three runs.
