Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bulldogs Relinquish Second Half Lead, Fall To CCNY 69-65

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team failed to hold onto a second half lead for the second consecutive home game, dropping their third straight league contest, this time to CCNY 69-65.  The skid comes right after the team had won 6 of 7 games and were playing their best basketball of the season.  The loss drops the Bulldogs to 9-12 and 6-5 in CUNYAC play, while CCNY improves to 2-19, 1-9.

How it Happened
  • A Noah Shy bucket with 12:20 left in the game gave Brooklyn a 10-point advantage, 47-37.
  • CCNY methodically chipped away at the lead, and then finally pulled even on a Jonathan Suazo basket with 4:40 to play.
  • After Elisha Park missed on a strong drive at the other end, the Beavers responded immediately to take the lead on a Romello Rashad score, a lead they would not let up for the remainder of the contest.
Box Score Breakdown
  • The Beavers out-shot the Bulldogs, 46% - 35% for the game.
  • City also got to the free throw line 17 times more than the hosts (29-12).
  • Brooklyn's free throw shooting hurt them down the stretch as they missed their final three attempts, including the front end of a one and one.
Leading the Bulldogs Leading the Beavers
  • Yassine Sakhi had game-highs of 22 points and 9 rebounds.
  • Rommel Rashad and Daniel Piszczatowski each chipped in 15.
