New York, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped their third straight conference match this evening at CCNY on the road, 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 23-25). BC drops to 6-11 overall and 1-3 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Beavers improve to 12-5 and 3-1. The Bulldogs return to their non-conference slate on Thursday at Rutgers-Newark at 7pm.
How It Happened
- With every game coming down to the wire, the Beavers took a 1-0 lead with a three-score rally to end the first after the Bulldogs tied the match at 22 with a three straight points sparked with a kill put away by freshman middle, Calvin Mullen.
- After the Beavers took the second game, BC would cling to a 22-21 lead in the third with a chance to force a fourth game. However, with the game tied at 23, CCNY was able to close out the match on back-to-back Bulldog errors.
- CCNY hit .215 ro BC's .185 for the match.
- Both teams finished with three blocks each, but the Beavers ended the night with a slight edge in every other statistical category.
Leading the Bulldogs
- Junior outside hitter, Jasper Diangco, led the way with a match-high 10 kills. Mullen added nine kills while sophomore outside hitter, Darren Roach, put away eight.
- Senior setter, Michael Valentin, finished with a match-high 33 assists.
- Junior libero, Utku Tanritanir, came up with a match-high 13 digs.
