Zaraza Scores Golden Goal to Lift Bulldogs Past York in OT, 2-1

Box Score Flushing, NY---Playing in their third straight overtime conference match, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team was able to pull out a 2-1 victory over York College on the road on Wednesday afternoon.  BC improves to 2-10 overall and 2-3 in CUNYAC with the win, while York drops to 1-6-1 overall and 1-3 in conference play.  The Bulldogs continue their conference slate on Saturday against John Jay at College of Staten Island at 3pm.

With just 12 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, senior midfielder, Arturo Zaraza, gathered a loose ball in the box and beat a Cardinal defender for the game-winning goal.  Zaraza took seven shots on the afternoon with three on-goal.

The Bulldogs would find themselves in a 1-0 hole in 14' as York's Wesly Antunez settled a cross from Kervin Mondesir for the goal.  Despite being down earlier, the Bulldogs were the busier team offensively, out-shooting the Cardinals 36-9 for the match.

Brooklyn would find the equalizer in 26' as senior back, Randy Urgiles, scored off of a header on free kick feed from George Espinoza.  Both teams would play to a draw for the remainder of regulation and most of the first overtime until Zaraza's heroics.

BC senior goalie, Utku Tanritanir, had two saves in all ninety between the sticks.
