Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's tennis team earned their first win of the 2021 season with a dramatic 5-4 non-conference victory over St. Joseph's College Long Island this afternoon. Brooklyn improves to 1-6 with the win, while the visitors drop to 1-4. Brooklyn will look to keep their momentum going on Tuesday, October 5 against York College at home in CUNYAC play.

Marah Mustafa each pulled out 8-7 wins at No. 5 and No.6 singles, respectively, for the team victory.
Kamilla Shulanova rolled to an 8-0 shutout at No. 1 singles and
Veronika Tsiko won at No. 3 singles, 8-6.
SJC took two out of three doubles matches, with Brooklyn's Tsiko and Prado Capon winning at the No. 2 slot, 8-4.
