Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's tennis team rolled to their first CUNYAC win of the season this afternoon at home over Lehman College, 7-2. BC improves to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play with the win while Lehman drops to 1-5 and 0-3. The Bulldogs will look to keep their momentum going on Friday, October 15, in a conference makeup match at home against John Jay at 2:30 pm.
Brooklyn started off the match taking two out of three matches in doubles, with
Veronika Tsiko and
Monica Prado Capon winning at the the No. 2 slot, 8-2, and
Marah Mustafa and
Rebecca Finney taking No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
The Bulldogs would go on to take five of six singles matches with Prado Capon winning at No. 2 (6-4, 3-6, 10-2), Tsiko taking No. 3 (6-2, 6-3),
Allison Dubrow winning at the No. 4 slot (7-6(8-6), 6-4),
Julie Saadia taking No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-1), and Finney cruising at the No. 6 slot (6-1, 6-0).
