Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team is heading back to the CUNYAC Championship! BC rolled to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-20) sweep of John Jay College in the conference tournament semifinals on Wednesday. Entering the tournament as the top seed, Brooklyn improves to 15-12 overall with the win, while the No. 4 Bloodhounds close out their season with a 7-16 mark. The Bulldogs await the winner of No. 2 Baruch and No. 3 Hunter in the other semifinal game tonight, for a showdown in the finals at Hunter College on Friday at 6:00 pm.
Despite falling behind 4-1 at the start of the match, the Bulldogs roared back thanks to a 7-0 run capped by an
Aleah Rafat service ace. After the Bloodhounds tied the first set 8-8, the Bulldogs went on a debilitating eight-score rally. Rafat ended the first set with one of her match-high 9 kills.
The Bulldogs finished with a .169 hitting percentage to John Jay's -.009.
