No. 3 Bulldogs Fall to No. 2 Bearcats in CUNYAC Semifinals

Box Score Queens College (Flushing, NY)----The Brooklyn College women's tennis team exited the CUNYAC Championship Tournament on Tuesday, falling to Baruch, 5-0, in the semifinals.  Baruch will advance to the conference final on Thursday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center where they will take on the winner of No. 1 Hunter and No. 4 John Jay.  Brooklyn moves to 3-9 with the tournament loss while Baruch improves to 10-4.  Next Up: Brooklyn will look to end their Fall season on a high note as the Bulldogs travel to York for a conference match makeup on Friday, October 28.  

The Rundown
  • Baruch rolled to a 3-0 lead following doubles, needing two wins in singles in order order to clinch the match. 
  • The Bearcats closed out the team victory at No. 1 and No. 3 singles while No. 2, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles were still in progress.  
  • Brooklyn junior, Veronika Tsiko, was leading 4-2 in the tiebreaker in the first set at No. 2 singles when Baruch clinched the match.
