Bulldogs Close Out Season in CUNYAC Tournament Opening Round

Randall's Island, NY----The Brooklyn College men's soccer team ended the 2022 season on Wednesday, falling to Hunter College in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championship tournament, 3-1.  Entering the tourney as the No. 6 seed, Brooklyn wraps up the season with a 2-12-2 overall record (2-4-1 CUNYAC) overall record while the No. 3 seeded Hawks improve to 7-6-1 and advance to the tournament semifinals against No. 2 Lehman College on Saturday.  

The Rundown
  • Hunter jumped on the board first in 22' on a penalty kick converted by Bradley Espejo. 
  • The Hawks took a 2-0 halftime lead following an Alpha Barry goal in 25'.  
  • HC's Michael Chibolema padded the Hawks' lead with a goal in 69' on an assist from Espejo.  
  • Brooklyn avoided the shutout in 79' on a goal put away by Danny Torrentes assisted by Benedick Augustin. 
  • Hunter out-shot Brooklyn 18-10 (9-6 shots-on-goal) for the match.  
  • It was Brooklyn's first loss in their last four matches played.
