Jersey City, NJ----The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team wrapped up their season on Saturday, falling to Kean University, 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-21), in the quarterfinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship hosted by New Jersey City University. Brooklyn ends the season with a 17-14 overall record. Kean improves to 19-13 with the win and advances to the semifinals against host, NJCU. It is the fifth straight season the Bulldogs have qualified for a postseason tournament.
The Rundown
- Trading short runs early in the first set, Kean took the lead for good thanks in part to a four-score rally to taka e 14-10 advantage.
- The Cougars jumped out to a 10-3 lead to start the second set before Brooklyn went on a late 7-1 run, but fell short.
- Trailing 6-0 to start the third set, Brooklyn rallied to even the score, 6-6. Brooklyn took their last lead of the set, 10-9, following a kill put away by Ashley Fung. Kean responded with four unanswered points and keep the Bulldogs at bay from that point on.
