Bulldogs Stumped Offensively, Fall to William Paterson at Home

Brooklyn, NY----Plagued by shooting woes most of the evening, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped a 67-40 decision to William Paterson at the West Quad Center on Wednesday.  Brooklyn falls to 1-4 to start the season with the non-conference loss while the Paterson improves to 2-0.  Next Up: The Bulldogs travel to Cabrini (PA) for a non-conference tilt on Saturday at 1pm.  

The Rundown
  • A back-and-forth game early in the first half, the Pioneers took the lead for good with a 6-0 run capped at the 13:47 mark.  The visitors closed out the half on a 10-0 run for a 34-18 halftime advantage.  
  • WPU opened the second half on a 6-0 run.  Brooklyn pulled within 15 points following a 8-1 run by senior guard Kayin Olajide.  However, the Pioneers responded with a 9-0 spurt of their own.  
  • The Pioneers held Brooklyn to 26% shooting from the field on the evening while connecting 30-64 from the floor as a team.  
  • BC was out-rebounded 46-30.

  • Olajide scored a team-high 14 points to go along with a team-high 7 rebounds.  
  • Elisha Park chipped in 6 points on 2-4 from behind the arc and grabbed 5 boards.  
Leading the Pioneers
  • Adryan Lopez scored a game-high 17 points on 8-12 shooting from the floor, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists.
