Bulldogs Tripped Up at Drew

Box Score Madison, NJ----Unable to overcome an early deficit, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team dropped a 74-53 decision at Drew University on Tuesday night.  BC moves to 3-5 with the loss while the Rangers improve to 8-1.  Next Up: Brooklyn's tough non-conference schedule continues at home on Saturday as the Bulldogs host No. 11 Smith College in a rematch of the teams' NCAA Tournament Second Round game last season.  Tip-off is set for 2pm at the West Quad Gymnasium.  

The Rundown 
  • After taking a 4-2 lead in the first 1:30 of play, the Bulldogs only managed a point for the rest of the first quarter as the home team made their move with a 13-1 run.  
  • The Bulldogs would trail 37-20 at the half.  
  • Brooklyn improved offensively in the second half, but the Rangers had an answer for any Bulldog spurt.  
  • Drew shot 50.6% from the field for the game to BC's 30.4%
Leading the Bulldogs 
  • Ericka James led the way with a team-high 17 points with three makes from behind the arc.  
  • Gianna Gotti and Nancy Pham chipped in 8 points each.  Gotti also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.  
Leading Drew
  • Joey Meyers scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. 
  • Madelyn Morgan added 13 points and also pulled down 9 boards on the evening.
