Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 8 Bulldogs Give No. 1 Lehman Scare, but Outlasted in CUNYAC Tourney Quarterfinals

Bronx, NY---In a tale of two halves, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team closed out their 2021-22 campaign on Saturday, falling at top-seed Lehman College in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championship tournament.  Entering the tourney as the No. 8 seed, the Bulldogs end the season with a 3-22 record.  Lehman improves to 20-3 with the home victory and advances to the semifinals of the tournament.

Despite losing twice to the Lightning during the regular season, the Bulldogs came to play.  After Lehman opened the game with a made three, BC junior guard Zuric Harvey answered the call with a made three of his own, sparking an 11-0 run forcing an early Lehman timeout.  Brooklyn would continue to control the pace, leading by as many as 17 points with 3:29 to go in the first half following a put-back finished by junior forward, Elisha Park.  Lehman would stop the bleeding and cut the BC lead to 32-21 at the half.

BC knocked down six from beyond the arc in the first half to the Lightning's pair.

The tide unfortunately turned on the Bulldogs in the second half as Lehman opened it with a 10-0 run.  BC junior guard, Kayin Olajide, ended the run with a make in the paint.  However, the home team responded with a 5-0 run, taking their first lead since the first possession of the contest.

With the score tied, 36-36, with just over 15 minutes left in regulation, Lehman grabbed the lead for good beginning with an 8-0 run capped by a made three splashed by Mo Idrissou who shot 5-6 from long-range in the second half.

Olajide finished with a team-high 17 points while shooting 5-11 from beyond the arc for the Bulldogs.  Senior guard, Noah Shy, added 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in his final college game.  Park flirted with a double-double, scoring nine points while grabbing a team-high 11 boards.

Lehman was led by Idrissou's game-high 27 points and four steals.
