Bronx, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team wasn't able to sweep the regular season series at Lehman on Tuesday, falling to the Lightning, 3-1 (25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21), on the road in conference play. BC drops to 4-12 overall and 1-6 in CUNYAC while Lehman improves to 6-12 and 2-7. Brooklyn will look to get back in the win column on Thursday at home against York at 7pm.
Zao Ming Li led Brooklyn on the offensive attack with a team-high 11 kills while Fidel Maldonado Jr. added 10 kills to go along with four blocks.
Omar Rezika served up a match-high five aces.
Brooklyn bested the Lightning in every major statistical category on the evening. However, the Lightning would benefit from the Bulldogs' higher amount of service and attacking errors.
Dropping the first two sets, the Bulldogs looked to come alive in the third set, jumping out to 3-0 lead and then surviving a late Lehman rally to win the third set. The teams would battle back-and-forth in the fourth set before Lehman, already with a 22-21 advantage, score three straight points to close out the match.
Lehman was led by Ray Rodriguez's match-high 15 kills.
